Scan Results-Good News!

Morning,  last week I decided to call the hospital for the results of my 3 month scans. My appointment wasn't until January 2020 and I didn't feel able to wait for the appointment as my anxiety was increasing despite taking Propanolol and keeping busy.  My Oncologist agreed I could have the results by telephone as it was such a wait otherwise. So, despite the episode of blood & itchy/painful toilet times the tumour has GONE. There’s also no evidence of spread to the liver or lungs.   There are the other issues of the two areas (adrenal gland and rib) that were picked up on my first scan (told they were probably benign growths and would be compared on later scans). This wasn't mentioned during the telephone call so I am guessing there's no cause for concern but I will follow this up at my next appointment which is next month now (they've put an extra clinic on).  So, I will be celebrating this weekend!  x

  • Brilliant news!   I think the waiting for results is the worst time.   Hope you enjoy your weekend x

  • Hi ,

That’s fantastic news, hopefully your anxiety will settle a little now. I know no matter how often others tell you certain symptoms that occur post treatment are ‘normal’ you never really rest until you hear it from the horses mouth so to speak. It’s also great that you’ll be seen in December instead of waiting until the New Year too, you’ll be able to thoroughly enjoy the festivities then.

So pleased it was positive news for you.

You've come so far since your first panicky posts.  Weil done!  I did ask about the name 1in1500 and your reply was just what I expected - the number of instances of anal cancer per annum now!  So pleased at your news, and long may your good fortune continue!  Mxx
