I'm happy to say that after a horrendous month I seemed to have turned the corner and am doing much better. It will soon be four weeks since chemoradiation ended, and I can feel my energy returning, pain subsiding and skin healing. My first follow up is in three weeks, but in the meantime I have a question about vaginal discharge I've developed over the past two weeks. It is thin, odorless, and there is no pain or itching, but it is persistent and yellow colored. From my own research I see this could be normal "tissue sloughing" as the vagina heals, but I am curious if others have had this side effect? I will probably let my oncology team know just to safe, but I wonder how long this phase of healing usually lasts and whether to be concerned. Thanks and healing vibes to all!

I am so happy that brighter days are here for you! Really, one day you will look back and think, did I really go through that?!

So the discharge. I have had that since the end of treatment (over four and and a half years). And I did the sniff test too, it isn't urine but I am not sure if it is coming from the urethra or the vagina, I think both have been affected by the radiotherapy, I wear a panty liner which takes care of that. Certainly my bladder has been affected, I have four or five loo visits during the night.

I did mention it to my oncologist, and she said to let her know if it became a problem and she would refer me to urology but I hope I have had my lifetime's quota of doctors poking about in my nether regions and haven't taken her up on it!

But as always, do talk to your oncologist for reassurance.
