Hi All, my colorectal nurse prescribed Oramorph should I need it when I got my diagnosis 2 weeks ago. I haven't started my treatment yet but the last 2 days have had increased aching in the rectal area, warm bath helps, but unsure if maybe now I should take some Oramorph? However she never mentioned the dosage so am a bit reluctant /nervous about how to start it, any advice would be helpful. I see the consultant Wednesday morning to arrange treatment plan so hopefully will be able to discuss this with him as well.
I will be thinking of you too, and keeping everything crossed for Wednesday.

Dreading tomorrow, phone consult at 10.45 to tell me if he has had chance to speak to my Haematology consultant and hoping she is happy for the chemotherapy to go ahead, if not I guess I will see what else they can do for the liver mets and hope it's positive. I'm certainly not prepared to accept they can't treat them, so fingers crossed I get the green light. Thanks for the support everyone. X
Hi, yes I have been running about the last few days as well.
All went well on Wednesday, Consultant spoke with my Haematology consultant and she confirmed no issues with me getting the chemo.
So was in yesterday for my first treatment after an agonising wait in the hospital to confirm bloods were all ok, all went well. I am on a once weekly infusion for 3 weeks then week off. Will be 6 cyces in total, CT after 2 to see if liver Mets are reducing. The after that 2/3 weeks of radiotherapy. So feel much better now something is at least happening.
Hope everyone is doing ok xx
Hello JDTb698a5
I also had systemic chemo first for six cycles, Carboplatin/Paclitaxel which seems to be the standard treatment for mets; I tolerated it very well except after the first session my blood test showed my liver levels were dodgy and I was panic stricken that I had to miss the next session.
But the oncologist wasn't at all alarmed, they just reduced the dose to 75 percent and thereafter I had no problems at all. So I tell you this not to alarm you but reassure you if the same happens to you!
But I am keeping everything crossed that everything goes really smoothly.
Big hug

Hi, thanks for that , good to know just incase I get the same issue. Xx
Btw, I did have to miss the next session (I don't think my post made that clear) but never again after that first blip xx
