Hi all,
I finally have my surgery tomorrow, it’s been a long 2 weeks and I have not being doing too well mentally. I had another telephone consultation with my Dr just to go over a few things and he said it will be quite a long surgery as he will need to do something called an advancement flap (a bit like a skin gaft) and that I’ll need about 8 stitches! I didn’t realise how big these ‘lesions’ are to need all of this.
Anyway I’m sure I will be back on here in the coming days but just one question for now. Those of you that had surgery/biopsies, did you have to take antibiotics after? He only mentioned this the other day and although it makes sense, they have always messed with my gut pretty badly. The ones he said he will be giving me are called Metronidazole and when I looked them up it seems they are the worst ones you can take and even come with a black box warning. I guess antibiotics should be the last thing I’m worrying about at the moment and if I have to take them then I do, but I just wondered about other peoples experiences.
Many thanks and hope you are all doing ok.
Sarah

Hey Sarah,
It’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed, especially with such a big surgery coming up—but you’ve got this, and you’re in good hands.
I actually took Flagyl (Metronidazole) myself not too long ago from a really reliable online pharmacy: vitacourier.net/buy-flagyl-uk.html, and it worked so well for me. I had a stubborn infection that just wouldn’t clear up with anything else, and within a few days on Flagyl, I could already feel a huge difference—less pain, reduced swelling, and just overall feeling more like myself again. It was honestly such a relief.
That said, it can be a bit harsh on the stomach, so definitely ask your doctor if you can take a good probiotic with it. I took mine with yogurt and kefir, and it really helped keep my digestion in check. Just try to be gentle with yourself and take things one step at a time—no need to worry about all the ‘what-ifs’ right now. Your body knows how to heal.
Sending you so much love and positive energy for the surgery and your recovery. You’ve got this!
