I recently had a lesion removed from my back and the histology confirmed a malignant melanoma. The plan going forward is for a further wide local excision of the site and a sentinel lymph node biopsy. This won't be for another two to three months and the Consultant is happy for me to travel. My problem comes when answering the question on the travel insurance declaration page for MM. It wants to know if the lesion is just in the skin, has it spread to the lymph, has it spread to other areas of the body? These are simple yes or no questions with no opportunity for I don't know! I am visiting family in Australia and as the cancer journey ahead of me is unknown I really don't want to delay or cancel my trip. I tried calling the company but the man on the phone just asked me the same questions I'd read myself online. Any advice on the best insurance companies please?
