Travel insurance for 10 weeks!

So my husband finished his 29/29 immunotherapy treatment on Wednesday after a year, woohoo! So just a scan and to see the consultant to go at the end of the month. The aim is to go to Australia for 10 weeks to say with our son, insurance is difficult to find as he now has conditions due to treatment  such as hypothyroidism!

Thanks.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Unfortunately, it can be more difficult to get travel insurance when a cancer diagnosis is involved. Have you had chance to look through the 'recommended travel insurance' and 'recommended travel insurance 2023-24' threads yet as you'll find lots of suggestions for travel insurance there? If not, have a look through them and make a list before settling down to get quotes.

In the past I've used goodtogoinsurance.com when I had a 90 day holiday in Spain.

  • Hello Ziggy01,

The only thing I can think of is to look for a specialist travel insurance broker who might be able to find you cover for such a long period. A google search might reveal likely candidates.

I hope you can find what you're looking for.

  • Thanks, that may be the best bet, won’t have seen our son for over 18mths hence the long stay, but if we need to shorten then we will.
