Hi, we are taking our child to Holland for cancer treatment. Has anyone been able to get travel insurance for such a situation? All the companies I have seen say they won’t cover you if you are travelling for medical treatment. Can anyone recommend a company?
Hi Shell2138 and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I don't personally have any experience with the type of travel insurance that you need, but wondered if you'd had chance to look through the 'recommended travel insurance' and 'recommended travel insurance 2023-24' threads yet as you'll find lots of suggestions for travel insurance there? If not, have a look through them and make a list before settling down to get quotes.
Another idea is to contact an insurance broker and ask them to see if they can find cover for you.
Let us know how you get on as this question will probably come up again on here in the future.
Anne
Hi, I have tried a number of the companies in the other threads. Some would insure us but only if we were not travelling for medical treatment. I contacted Biba. The British insurance brokers association. They thought they could find us cover for things apart from the medical conditions so cancellation, lost luggage etc but they were not able to after all. They gave us a list of companies but got the same with them. So think we are going to have to take the risk of no insurance as we are can not get insured!
