My father has been recently diagnosed with terminal lung cancer with a prognosis of 3-6 months.

he is starting treatment on 16/06/25 but we have a holiday already booked since Oct 24 which I cannot find anyone who will offer travel insurance due to the short prognosis.

holiday is to Dublin for 4 days 09/06/25 - 12/06/25

I've been through BIBA, AllClear, insure & go, insure cancer, insurance with, stay sure, able 2 travel, good to go insurance. I’ve spoken to the local McMillan contact who did not have any where else to suggest.

is there anyone you can recommend?

  • Someone on this site suggested the search engine https://www.albertandeddie.co.uk/

It was set up by a business person who had terminal cancer themselves & may be worth a try. Best Wishes.

  • I have jusgt tried this Company and, after completing a very comprehensive (and I thought complicated)  medical assessment, they would not cover my husband who has T2 bladder cancer.  I am still looking.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Unfortunately, it can be more difficult to get travel insurance when a cancer diagnosis is involved. Have you had chance to look through the 'recommended travel insurance' and 'recommended travel insurance 2023-24' threads yet as you'll find lots of suggestions for travel insurance there? If not, have a look through them and make a list before settling down to get quotes.

I hope you're able to get travel insurance so that you can continue with your holiday plans.
