Hi,
I have just started treatment for breast cancer. I have been told I can be cured but need 6 months chemo, then surgery then radiotherapy and more chemo.
I already have a couple of holidays booked but want to get cover for what is now a pre existing condition but nobody seems to want to accept me as I am on treatment and waiting for surgery. I have annual cover through my bank but they won’t add the cancer diagnosis and cover me.
i am hoping to get away in between chemo sessions and before surgery but worry I can’t get cover.
Any suggestions of any companies people have used/found helpful?
Thanks in advance,
Keely xx
Hi Keely/Kiwi79
Unfortunately, as you've found, it can be more difficult to get travel insurance when a cancer diagnosis is involved.
I haven't taken out insurance whilst undergoing treatment but I have subsequently and used goodtogoinsurance.com.
Have you had chance to look through the 'recommended travel insurance' and 'recommended travel insurance 2023-24' threads yet as you'll find lots of suggestions for travel insurance there?
It's probably best to go through them and make a list before settling down to get quotes.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks for the suggestions. I managed to find one but was £2000!!
Will make a list from the thread like you suggest.
I already have 2 holidays booked this year (booked prior to diagnosis) which I am hoping to fit in between treatments and at end.
Thanks again!
Keely x
