I wonder if anyone can help me with this Travel Insurance query?
Three weeks ago I had a camera in my bladder, all fine. Also a CT scan of my kidneys. The results have not come through on the CT scan. I am going to India in three weeks time and need some insurance. I’ve looked on a couple of sites but they all seem to want the results of my scan. Given what’s going on with strikes etc I’m not sure I will have this information before I leave the UK. I’m reluctant to go without some medical cover. Does anyone have any experience of this and know of an Insurance Company that would cover me? Many thanks Tubby
Hi Tubby and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Unfortunately, as you've found, it can be more difficult to find travel insurance when you've had a cancer diagnosis. I don't have any personal experience of trying to get insurance while waiting for results but I do know that this is a question that all the insurance companies ask.
Have you had a chance to look at the recommendations in the 'recommended travel insurance' thread yet? If not, clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there. You might also want to look at this thread as it includes a link to a Travel Insurance Directory.
Most people recommend that it's best to phone the insurance companies rather than try and do online quotes as often at the end of the online quote it will tell you to phone the company and you'll then have to go through all the information again. Also, sometimes the broker can refer to the underwriters to see if they would provide cover when an online quote might just give you a straight refusal.
