Hello,
my Mum was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last May. She is 84 and living alone, about 3 miles from me but I don’t drive. She gets support from her doctors and MacMillan with her medication. She really struggles to eat and drink. She has no appetite, is sick at the smell of food and does not have the energy to make drinks.
She has no money to spend on care, she does get benefits. I increased her home help from once a week to daily, but she says she can’t cope with them. She wants to go back to one hour a week support.
She is on anti nausea medication and I have got her food, from snacks to ready meals. She doesn’t like protein drinks.
does anyone have any practical ideas for how to get her drinking? I was thinking of getting her a flask so she only has to make it once a day. Has anyone else come up with other solutions?
