I have no idea what to say to my mum (86) when she says this to me. Diagnosed less than 2 months ago - given prognosis of weeks to low months.
Hi MoppetsMum welcome to the forum and I am so sorry to hear about what is happening for you and your mum right now. It is never easy at anytime with Cancer but when people say out loud I want to die, its hard to comprehend that they can possibly mean that but maybe that is what Mum wants, it is difficult to understand what she may be thinking.
Is there any way that you can sit with your Mum and have a chat with her to find out if she really means what she says and explain to her how hearing this upsets you ? She may not even realise that's having such an effect. Starting that conversation is never easy but can often be so helpful for all involved.
Meanwhile Im sending some hugs your way for now
