My husband with Stage 4 renal kidney which had progressed to his hip has trouble walking and uses a wheelchair and a rollator.
He has been feeling a bit better lately and is working on improving his walking.
We thought we might like to go away on holiday in the Spring and considered a short cruise.
However, the cruise company will not accept him without travel insurance and nobody will give us insurance because of his 6 months prognosis.
He is very deflated and the finality of what seems like a death sentence is hitting hard.
Dies anyone have any suggestions for a UK holiday with disabled access that would be suitable for us?
Thank you

  • Hi Crispy.

Have you looked at the travel insurance forum on this site? Might be able to help with your problem.

re staying in UK.. close relatives of mine have always gone on cruises but can no longer do so. They now go for short adults only breaks to leisure hotels. Usually country manors with food, entertainment, spa facilities etc all included. Like a cruise but on land. they love it and don’t need to get special insurance. They go to Warners but there will be many other hotel groups that have similar breaks available. Just search online for uk leisure breaks.

Hope you get your well deserved holiday this spring.

  • Thank you yes we did go through the insurance information but the prognosis has to be for longer than 6 months after the holiday dates.
I will look at Warner Liesure Breaks, He is advised not to drive, so a long distance one would be tiring for me as sole driver. .
    We will go somewhere!!!
