Hi,
My sister has pancreatic cancer and has been given a prognosis of 9 months to a year. She has recently has been released from hospital where she was eating properly and had a positive attitude. Now, at home, she is refusing to eat and will not leave the house. I know she is going through so much but I just want her to do everything she can to live life whilst she has it. I am struggling to know how to help her and would appreciate any advice because I'm totally lost on what to do next. I very much would appreciate any help or guidance. Thank you
Just be there when she needs you, to listen to her and hug her and make sure she has what she needs. And speak with her palliative team or district nurses about how you can best help her. That’s about all. Hugs. xx
Hi KJH, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister, and how difficult this time is for you while you struggle to know what to do best. I have no answers for you (I am in a similar situation), but Franniefanakapan's reply seems like very practical, helpful advice. Just know you are not alone x
