Terminal diagnosis received today

I'm very sorry to hear of your mum's diagnosis. It is devastating to be told this and I have some understanding of how she feels. If you would like to read my profile please click on my username. I'm not sure of your mum's current health or how old your mum is but it sounds as though the doctors want to offer some sort of plan. Your mum has most likely been referred to an oncologist with a view to maybe offering some sort of treatment. The scan will give them more information for this. Terminal is often not what it used to be and incurable but treatable is a term often used now. I hope this is the case for your mum. Don't give up hope yet and see what happens with her next appointments and the results of the scan. Sincere best wishes for your mum's next steps.

Just go one day at a time while you try and get your head around it. It's a little bit of a whirlwind. I'm going through the same, but am further down the journey. Take notes, write things down, keep a calendar, accept all the help you're offered, from professionals, friends and family. Share the burden. You will cope, but it will be hard as you'll feel so many different emotions, often all at once, but you'll cope. Just be kind to yourself and your mum.
