Mum been in hospital for a week now still can't move leg to get out bed they gave her more scans and can see bit cancer in leg we waiting on care plan so she can go home
She asked doctor how long has she got but they keep telling her can't say she said to them I want rough idea as got things to sort out she's more worried about my dad who's 94
Her bowel movements seem to be uncontrollable now as can't get up to go toilet and that she will need her pain killers constantly with a patch
She has lost another stone in about 3 weeks was 10 and half stone in Aug now 7 stone 6
One day she seems awake chatty and next day she sleeps and quiet
So hard seeing her like this knowing we can't do much apart from being there
I just wanted to reach out and say how sorry I am to hear about your mum. What I would say about prognosis is it’s not always good to know. My dad was given a shock cancer diagnosis and told 2 months maybe 3. Four months on he’s still here but has counted down everyone of those weeks like a death sentence. Best get things sorted out sooner rather than later. We have had days where I thought this is it, then he has rallied. It’s really emotionally tough but you’ve got to be grateful for the good times and roll with the bad. I wish you strength in the coming months xx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
