Practical help needed

My husband is very poorly now with stage 4 stomach cancer. He has also had a stay in hospital with possibly another one coming up. I’m afraid I have no information I can share about support at home but if you do find any I’d love to know! I worry about being able to support my husband properly as he gets more poorly and know he will want to stay at home as much as possible and not be in a hospital.

Hi Lynne, my husband has a weekly visit from a  District Nurses, to attend to his picc line and take bloods,  so far he has had 3 who have all been absolutely great, always listen and try to help.

Last week, I was asked if we needed a hospital bed, which we don’t as yet but she said to ask if we needed anything. I suggest you get in touch with your GP and ask them for the telephone number of your local District Nurses and ask them for help. I would have thought the hospice would have been able to put you in touch with someone who can help you.

Tomorrow we get results of his recent scan, so I may not be in the best of places, but I will try to ask his district nurse on Tuesday what she would advise and let you know.
