My mum has breast cancer and a further tumor in the womb with lots of small pieces spread in the pelvic area, she is on tablets for breast cancer, the ovary tumor needed a biopsy to find out if the same cancer or different, as my mum is 80 she didn’t want to be pulled about anymore so that remains untreated. She was diagnosed in December 2019 and now keeps getting water infections and she has lost a lot of weight and going off more and more food as it tastes weird to her. I feel totally alone as drs arnt checking on her and we feel totally unsupported through the whole thing, is this normal or should the drs be supporting us more through this?
Hi and welcome to the online community although I'm very sorry that you've had to find us.
Although your mum has chosen not to have the tumour on her ovary treated you have said that she is on tablets for breast cancer. I'm assuming, therefore, that she is still under the care of her breast cancer team. Has she contacted her BCN recently about the symptoms that you describe? If she hasn't then this would be a good place to start as the nurse can then arrange for her to come in to be assessed if she feels it's necessary.
I notice that you also posted this in the ask a nurse section of the community and wondered if you'd seen the reply yet? If not, clicking here will take you directly there.
