Hi
My husband has just finished his last chemo 25 days ago and 5 days ago his chemo pills, i know it will take weeks, months etc for him to start to feel a little normal, but to day he cant stop being sick, and is sleeping a lot the last week. He had 6 chemo treatments over the last 5 months for oesophageal cancer, and has a cancer node on his lung. We do not have a support person to phone, and he is stubborn and will not phone the hospital as he says its normal to be like this, so my question is and i know everyone is different, but what symptoms have you or your relative had in the month after chemo has finished? We haven't really had any advise as its all be by phone call by his oncologist who we haven't met face to face, just to explain the next steps in 6 weeks time. Thank you for your time

Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to hear that your husband has been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer and it's natural to want to know various things about his treatment and what to expect next.
I'm not a member of this group but I spotted that your post hadn't had any responses so thought I'd suggest that you join the oesophageal cancer group and post your questions there as well. The advantage of being a member of that group is that you can ask questions and share experiences with others who either have that type of cancer or are supporting someone who has.
If you'd like to join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
