Hi everyone

Yesterday had a very welcome phone call inviting me to start my Immunotherapy treatment on Monday 3rd October. I can only thank my Onco who must jump through hoops for me.

Have the blood test next week and a CT scan after 3 cycles. I'm determined to present my body in the best possible health (LOL) so have given up my beloved 2 daily scotch and cokes. I admit I had one after the phone call.

Out of interest do any of you have the odd tipple or are you alcohol free? My Onco says a weak scotch with lots of coke and ice won't be a problem. There's not a lot of things I enjoy nowadays and I hate the thought of giving it up but wonder would I be daft if I continued to have one?

Be interesting to hear your thoughts., Hugs, Barb xx

  • I'm a wee bit slow at posting on this site, diluting a good whiskey should only be done with an other wee dram, unless is suppmarket stuff, unless it impacts on your health do what you want, a bit of what you fancy and all that.

    Hugs to you all Ulls

  • I'm in the group of enjoying what you fancy. My alcohol consumption is much reduced but I do have a drink when I'm out for the day, out for a meal, watching a good film whenever the fancy takes my. Yesterday I was driving my powerchair round a thrift festival with a passion fruit martini in one hand and steering with the other and I totally enjoyed it. I felt the best I had felt in some time

  • Spot on Elliekate, I've never tried that drink, and I don't know what a thrift festival is either, can't believe I'm missing out on something, hugs Ulls

  • Oooh, I'll some of that!

    Bxx

  • Hi barb, I think EllieKate needs to invite us round next time she's having drinks

  • The festival of thrift has been on at my home town for 10 years but is moving to a nearby town next year. It's all about recycling and repurposing things. There is also live music and dance and lots of lovely food and drink stalls.

Anybody is welcome round mine for a drink either alcohol or otherwise and if I know you are coming my daughter makes a mean cake

  • You are just teasing me now alcohol and CAKE.

  • I noticed that as well, maybe send later

  • Can't believe this, must be my body on a countdown to treatment - I've completely gone off alcoholic drink! Didn't fancy my usual scotch and coke last night, nor a G&T nor a wine - crisis!

    Still like cake though!

    Barb xx

  • The invitation is to a very run down town on the North East coast that boasts a special ice cream and now a local gin named after it. If anybody fancies a trip up North I can provide the address lol
