Good morning everyone, and welcome to August 2026!

The chit chat thread is a space to talk about your day. From the weather, to appointments, to food. Anything that happens in your day to day life. A good space to check in with one another.

So good morning everyone, how’s your day?

  • Morning

Just a quick update - oncology appointment went well , no changes on my scans which is always good news

I saw my oncologist for the first time in a year (been members of the team previously) she’s so lovely , very positive and encouraging - we mostly talk about holidays!

Anyway hope everyone is doing as well as they can over the weekend . I guess we are back to our usual bank holiday weather - it’s very wet here !!

    Hugs to all

    Lucy xx

  • Hi Lucy

Such good news, it is such a relief to have that sort of a consultation isn’t it!!

    Enjoy your weekend!

Scotland is cool and cloudy but the people warm and welcoming as usual - it is good to be back in Perthshire for a few weeks!

    All the best

  • Congratulations Lucy! Keep up with your holiday plans.

We had some friends over last night and went to the pub quiz and won. That is a first and only!

Have a good weekend everyone x

  • Good news Lucy, long may it continue.

  • Hi everyone

It’s a dull drizzly Sunday in Perthshire today, so what better way to spend a hour than in the local gym!!!  As a visitor to these parts I am able to join on a PAYG basis.

They have some nice smart bikes with screens so I chose a lovely ride through the French Champagne region, so strange to be on the wrong side of the road!!!

It’s good to get these old bones moving…

Have a great Sunday wherever you are,

    All the best

  • Are your originally from Scotland KrisPy?

  • Hi

No - indeed go back 6 or 7 generations I actually have Irish ancestry!!

My daughter lived in Switzerland for many years and upon wishing to return to the UK she and her partner discovered the joys of Perthshire and settled here ( it’s known as little Switzerland!). Both my grandkids were born in Zurich but are classed as UK borne.

it actually takes us longer to get here than it did when she lived in Zurich!!! And it was easier!!

But I feel like I should have Scottish heritage- I adore the lochs, glens and hills and when I was fit enough I couldn’t get enough of getting out on the hills in all weather!

I keep saying maybe next year….

    Cheers
