Good morning everyone, and welcome to August 2026!
The chit chat thread is a space to talk about your day. From the weather, to appointments, to food. Anything that happens in your day to day life. A good space to check in with one another.
So good morning everyone, how’s your day?
That Halfpenny Green vineyard is a great day out! Been and had wine and cheese tasting! And yes that Penny Black is really nice! They supply the wines to a pub owned by a Mr Clarkson….

Just passed this sign - a little local colour!

Great update Lee, you have been kept busy! Have a wonderful holiday next week.
I have book marked the vineyard lee and KrisPy. Did not realise there is vineyard in that part of the country. We have a few in Suffolk too. Some nice white wines.
I thought it was a very touching tribute for King Charles to have the Guard play Dolly's 9 to 5 today. She was such an icon, and will truly be missed around the world. We got to visit Dollywood when we were kids, and we enjoyed it just as much as the Disney parks back then.
Sounds like you had a pretty busy weekend Lee, I bet the vineyard was amazing, I've always had a love for vineyards. Probably why a movie called A Good Year is one of my favorite movies. It has Marion Cotillard and Russell Crowe in it.

I can’t say I’m really a royalist at heart but that tribute was brilliant wasn’t it !!!
Hi everyone, sorry I’ve been quiet it’s been a very hectic week moving into our new home. We have moved a lot of things in this week, fitted carpets etc, which is handy being married to a carpet fitter. Tomorrow is the big move, then we can start to enjoy our new home. There is a lot of work to be done on the garden, but we will enjoy doing it.
I was very sad to see that Dolly Parton passed away. I have just watched the kings guards performing 9 til 5 on YouTube after seeing it mentioned here. How fab was that.
Hi Chelle
Good luck with the move - how exciting to be moving house and to start afresh, I do hope you settle in quickly and enjoy it.
We got to Aberfeldy late afternoon yesterday and have just been out for a lovely walk along the River Tay and a quick stopover at the golf club for lunch, sat right over the water just watching the waters flow by underneath Wades Bridge. Very chilled indeed.
Good luck tomorrow
