Good morning everyone, and welcome to August 2026!
The chit chat thread is a space to talk about your day. From the weather, to appointments, to food. Anything that happens in your day to day life. A good space to check in with one another.
So good morning everyone, how’s your day?
Choosin' Texas is one of my favorite songs at the moment, her music just makes you feel good. I have playlists with all kinds of music, including from when I danced ballet, some of those memories from back then never go away. The music helps keep me connected to that time in my life.
The actor Matthew McConaughey was on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon a week ago promoting his new movie, and McConaughey covered Choosin' Texas with Fallon and a few other band members. They turned it into a bluegrass song, and it's quite good and super funny! Ella Langley played it on the big arena screens a couple days later at one of her concerts and her fans went wild. You can find McConaughey's cover on YouTube.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Good Morning
How is everyone? I felt better over the weekend and managed to do some short walks. The village shop is selling some lovely sunflowers and I need to get some.
I feel a bit strange lately as if I didn’t have the operation in January this year I would most likely to be dead in the next few months since I have run out of effective chemo lines. I felt like someone survived a major car crash when they should not have. This cancer situation is certainly taxing on the mind.
How are you doing Angie? Has the weather turned cold in Scotland? How are you doing lee and Lucy? Hope Eddie is managing his chemo treatment well.
Hope everyone has a good week ahead.

Hi Stella - lovely sunflowers!
It is good news that things are going so well for you - but the mind does play tricks on you doesn't it. This is a time to enjoy the last of the summer and look forward to the autumn colours - although they have started to appear very quickly already!
We are heading up to Scotland in the next few days and I am hoping that the colours will be a little better and not so scorched!
Have a lovely day and make the most of the weather before it starts to break a bit, and just enjoy those short walks (I went a little too far this morning and had to sit down twice on the way back!!)
All best wishes
KrisPy
Stay positive, be strong

Hi Stella and everyone !
Thanks for asking after me
I’ve been living my best life over the summer , travelling and holidaying as much as possible . Just back from a few days in Lisbon - great destination for a city break with a beach option too !
I’ve been away from hospitals since March , lucky me , now it’s time to see if I need to go back onto treatment . I’ve had my scan and have my consultant appointment on Thursday so struggling a bit with scanxiety today , it never gets any easier does it ! I try to remember what you said and frame it as a positive - if something needs to happen then there will be a plan
Hugs to all
Lucy xx
Good morning Stella, sorry for the silence but I am truly struggling at present. The removal of the lumps and skin draft have taken it out of me. Low neutrophils and haemoglobin do not help the situation. It’s the fatigue which is so soul destroying. Dear me, considering what others here are going through, I feel awful moaning about my issues but had to get it of my chest. Time for a nap with Lilly is approaching. Wishing everyone as good a day as possible and positive results etc. love from
Angie and Lilly xx
Hi
Have a wonderful trip KrisPy. I have been able to seat outside recently and enjoy walking about. This the summer weather I prefer. I like autumn with beautiful leaves
and cosy days.
Lucy, lovely to hear from you. Glad you are doing so well and off treatment. Lisbon is very lovely but hilly for me. Best of luck for Thursday, keep us posted.
Angie so sorry you are very fatigued . You have had lots of infections and surgery recently. Hope you will turn the corner soon.
Not much going on for me today other than I have ordered lots of clothes online so today will be waiting for the parcel day. X
Hi Angie, I have had low neutrophils and haemoglobin for a few years now, and you're right about the fatigue. I fall asleep many times during the day unless I'm outside in the fresh air working.
When I say working, I mean deadheading or light garden work as well as light duties inside. It's a bit of a contradiction in terms, fatigue and working to keep awake but if the work is physical I'm suffering a lot. I make sure that I let my haemotologist know at every consultation how I'm feeling. I do get low in mood frequently and I keep that secret because I don't want to affect Mrs Tvman's mood as she has enough problems of her own.
I hope your bruising is becoming less severe as the days go by Angie and your fatigue improves.

Hi everyone. I have had a busy weekend. We had family here for the weekend and a ten year, a four year and one year old make for hard work. It was so lovely to see them but I am exhausted. We went to Cosford Air Museum , the local vineyard, they do a great red called Penny Black and the local air field. We also had a BBQ. Hope you enjoy Scotland KrisPy. Hope you heal soon Angie and glad you are getting about more now Stella. I put my sunflowers out in the garden when they were finished for the birds and squirrels. It must be really hard going to he hospital three times a week Tvman , its hard keeping low moods to yourself. Glad you had a great summer Lucy and good luck tomorrow. I am going to listen to Ella Langley in a minute Stacy. Sad about Dolly. Have a great time in Thailand Patrick, have you rented an apartment again? We are going to Praia da Luz in Portugal next Wednesday which reminds me to sort out travel insurance. Love to everyone.
