Whatever we can plan, do and enjoy, it gets us away from our day-to-day routine. Whether near or far, let's share our experiences, snapshots etc. How did we manage? Insurance? Help at home and abroad...
Cheers mate - good to be here. Glad to see you are enjoying Thailand - Nice food and nice people.
As for more important matters () I would prefer an English manager, but as long as we have a decent run I’m happy
Stellenbosch Wine, Cape Town, Robben Island, Table Top Mountain, Garden Route, Port Elizabeth, Safaris, Eddo Elephant Park, I could go on and so much we did not see - just loved South Africa. But I also loved Bazil as well…
Hope to get to US next year, but very much current health dependent. Waiting for draw in December and can then start thinking of planning
Hi Eddie, how did it go in the last day or two re the storm? Are you still on board at Tobermory harbour or have you set sail? What's next after Tobermory?
I've posted on a new thread entitled "Vertigo or whatever" detailing my recent illness. Feels like there's a storm in my head these last few days!
Tvman x
That looks amazing. Do you happen to remember the name of the Hotel you stayed in please?
Love Annette x
Morning Tvman, im so sorry to hear this my friend, are/is there anything they can do for you, or do for yourself, it's so unfair at times my friend, I do hope and pray things take a turn for the better for you soon, and I'll have a look at the new thread
All's good here, mostly, and we sat out the storm in Tobermory harbour till about 1pm yesterday, then sailed to Craignure, where we met up with family, it's back to Oban after breakfast then home?, my aunties, who I've been with have been on these cruises for years and were able to arrange an extra night for this one, which despite the weather, was fab; so we've booked for next year, for 7 of us for the Skye tour, more hope than expectation for me, but you've got to be positive.
love Eddie and family xx
Glad to hear you are safe Eddie, looks like you are enjoying the food Patrick. Yes I would like the name of the hotel too Stella. Steve I am from Port Elizabeth in South Africa and have travelled the Garden Route many times. I have also spend many happy days at Addo Elephant park, I would so love to go back for another visit but I have mets in my spine so sitting for so long is too painful and business class is so expensive.
Lee 2 x
Hi Lee2, thank you my friend, all's good here, I read what you said about flying business class, and Sheila, my partner, fly's everytime she goes to Australia, she checks for late cancellations, to book and it's usually not much more than economy, you do have to be ready to go quite quickly at times
Eddie xx
I have never been to Brazil. It was on my radar though. Where did you visit ? I am more into nature and good food and wine.
It is always nice to have a plan for the next trip. Something to keep us going.
Hi Annette and Lee2
The hotel I stayed in Bath is the Gainsborough spa hotel. It has a very lovely spa complex. The hotel guests can visit for free 8-10am and 7-9pm. Otherwise is £70 for 3 hours. I normally go in the morning around 8. Their breakfast charge is rather high at £40 per person. I would skip that and have a brunch instead.
There is also another spa complex directly opposite of the hotel where you can book in. They have the hot spring water and roof top pool. Looks pretty nice too.
We had dinner at this Italian restaurant ‘sotto sotto ‘ really excellent authentic food and fairly priced too. Would recommend but need to book well ahead.
