Whatever we can plan, do and enjoy, it gets us away from our day-to-day routine. Whether near or far, let's share our experiences, snapshots etc. How did we manage? Insurance? Help at home and abroad...

  • May as well start. Off to Thailand 1st October, oncologist has given the green light. Some rescheduling necessary but ok. Looking forward to it except for the long flight

  • Hello Gilpat,

I'm in Tucson, Arizona at the moment, the last stage of a road trip before returning home on 5th September. It's hot in the desert but that's how we like it - as they say around here, it's a dry heat.

    Derek.

Made in 1956. Tested to destruction.
  • 1st October would have been  another  Wedding Anniversary for me, and you are going on Holiday how ,lovely,

They do say  Thaiday   is   lovely, you will be my eyes, with lots of photos.

My granddaughter went there along with  Bail and  venetian,

Are you going on your own or with company, x

  • I have booked a few nights away at North Norfolk at the end of September. The hotel room has its own sauna and steam room. I am looking forward to use it especially if the weather is not nice. X

  • This year I’ve been lucky to have 3 trips abroad (Spain twice and Greece) . I found InsureWith easy to deal with for my travel  insurance at a reasonable price . Also had a few short  trips in the UK including London to visit my kids, Wales and the Lake District.

I was very anxious ahead of my first trip since diagnosis and if my hubby had asked me if I wanted to cancel I would have said yes but he just bundled me into the car and off we went to the airport , once on the plane I was absolutely fine and since then have not looked back . I’m still well enough to travel so will grab the opportunities

Definitely being by the sea is my happy place and I am lucky to live very near the coast so can jump in the car for a seafront stroll . Love it in all weathers , in fact I love watching a storm roll in (from the cosiness of the car though !!)

Any days out which involve a pub lunch are also high on my list of favourite things to do Blush

  • Where about in Spain did you go? We went to Soller and Palma in Mallorca this March. Had a brilliant, the food is so amazing!

  • Unfortunately I'm not fit enough to fly anymore, so have to make do with the best country in the world, this year we've been to the Isles of Scilly twice, Criccieth in Wales, Fort William twice, Norfolk/Cambridge, and the Lakes...I'm going with some cancer friends to Ayr next week, a mini hebridean cruise a couple of weeks later"a birthday present", a short cruise to Northern Norway at the end of the month, "another birthday present", returning to the Scilly's in October, for as long as we can, and a trip to Puddletown in November. I was hoping to fly to Australia in the new year to spend time with my partner, but it's impossible now, its tough breaking a promise.

  • Malaga - been many times , my favourite city break

It’s a place people fly into and then head to the resorts . It’s so easy , jump on the metro or taxi for 15 minutes from the airport and you are there

Great all year round for mild weather- much further south than the Balearics

Great for food incl fried fish of all types which is their specialty

Great for shopping , also easy to visit the historic town of Ronda from there by train

Beaches are ok , not brilliant but you can always travel a bit up or down the coast for nicer beaches. My husband lasts about 10 minutes on a beach and then he’s done so we don’t do much of that !

    Anyway would recommend !

  • Wow Eddie you have plenty planned

Hebridean mini cruise and Norway sound great - I’d love to do both

And all without airport stress - even better !

  • Meant to add we also love Mallorca . Such a pretty island too Blush
