The chit chat thread is for:

Even having a laugh, that is a normal life, and we all have it.

If you have a special topic please start a new thread so people that wish to see it can, and can comment.

  • Oh Eddie, I saw on another thread that you are not going to get to Greece. I am so sorry to hear that. You seemed to be looking forward to it so much.

I am sure from what I have read in previous posts, that you will arrange something closer to home.

You and Lesley have a lovely weekend with the twins.

    Helen.

  • Wow - looks fabulous. I love lily pads and water in gardens in general . Always very calming to hear water in the background or look out across a serene pond

Are you an RHS member? I guess you are , you’re getting good value out of it !

    Lucy xx

  • Helen, try and just copy and paste the photo you would like to post. That  might do the trick. Love

    Angie and Lilly xx

  • Hiya Eddie, did I see thst right that you won’t make it to Greece after all? What a crying disappointment that must be for you and your travel companions. Hope you and Sheila will manage a nice time away very soon. Love

    Angie and Lilly xx

  • Thanks Helen, It would have been nice, but  not  to be, but there's a chance of going later in the year, the girls took me to Cleethorpes today 30C,  fab, and Lesley and I are off to Shropshire tomorrow to see our family for a couple of days,

What plans have you for the weekend my friend, Eddie xx

  • Hi Angie, thank you, no plans for a break with Sheila, or anyone till July, and as we're looking after baby Mandy, we'll be limited, a lovely problem to have.

    love Eddie and Sheila xx

  • Aww Eddie….disappointing news but who needs Greece when we seem to have decent temperatures forecast and you have the joy of snuggles with a little one - nothing better !

  • Morning Lucy, looking after little Mandy, will be wonderful, my friend, the kids mum and I are off to see our son in Shropshire for a couple of days, he and his wife need a little time away, so we have the twins and older siblings to look afterGrinning, and we may get to Greece later in the year anyways, how are you doing, and what are you up to this weekend, whatever it is, enjoy

    Eddie xx

  • Sounds like a lovely weekend for you - you will need a rest next week but I’m sure you’ve already factored that in

Just pottering this weekend and resting after travelling home yesterday. I felt sorry for myself this morning as was supposed to go to meet friends today but am not up to it . Anyway had a word with myself and will have a relaxing afternoon sitting  amongst my pots on my decking with hubby instead Blush

  • Hope all of you are ok and had no bad effects from the Thunderstorms. So far we only have rain but it might push on this far north yet. Everyone enjoy as good a weekend as possible. Love from

    Flashing through the darkened sky

    lightning bolt explodes.

    We await with bated breath

    as mighty thunder bodes.

    With massive crash it resounds,

    echoing in our ears;

deafens us with its great roar,

    enhancing all our fears.

Then pours down the drenching rain,

    in giant buckets full,

    soaking us with water cold

    as all our senses dull.

Raging winds chill to the bone

    and make our bodies shake.

    We search desp'rately to find

    what shelter we may take.

We stand 'neath a spreading tree,

    but that is a mistake.

If the lightning hits that wood,

    we'll end up Shake-and-Bake!
