Good morning all everyone,
Just setting up a new chat thread for June. If you would like to catch up on May's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.
The chit chat thread is for:
Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!
Even having a laugh, that is a normal life, and we all have it.
If you have a special topic please start a new thread so people that wish to see it can, and can comment.
Hi Patrick, first of all, thanks very much for thinking about me. I hadn't heard anything about that and I've had a quick look at it online. I think it's mainly concerned with myeloma which I don't have. I have myelodysplasia that is slightly different. I have had 2 treatments twice a week, every week for almost 10 years and 3 treatments twice a week for nearly 2 years. My next appointment is on Thursday 10th July and I'll read up on the Trojan horse drug before I ask the right type of question.
Thanks again Patrick x
Hi Stella, I'm so jealous as I love holidays in Italy. We've been to Lake Garda and Lake Como as well as Pisa Florence and a few other places. Last time we were there we stayed in Bellagio in a hotel right on the lakeside of Lake Como and above the boat stop for Bellagio. Next stop across the lake is a stopping point for Villa Carlotta. Above the entrance to the house and gardens is the letter C. Now, that's not standing for Carlotta, it's for the previous owners called Clerici, pronounced Clereechee.
My wife's uncle was called Clerici. His grandfather was Italian and he refused to fight for Garibaldi and he left for India where my wife's uncle was born. The old grandfather anglicised the pronunciation of his surname to clerasee and that's what her uncle Brian was called. He was a pilot in the RAF during world war 2 and that's where he met Mrs Tvman's aunt. After the war they ended up in Country Down in Northern Ireland in the same road where she was born, the same road where my wife was born and where we have lived for 40 years.
Have a great time in Lake Maggiore Stella. We'd love to stay there once the current muddied water clears.
Tvman x
Hi Tvman, sounds like your treatment has been working well for a very long time and it stays that way for you. I don't understand the niceties between the different cancers but it sounds like that new Blenrep drug is going to help lots of people. isn't scientific progress wonderful!

Hi everyone. I can see the chat is quiet today, and I know a couple of people have been asking after Ellie. Unfortunately Ellie is in hospital at the moment so will not be posting until she is home,I think she struggles posting with her phone. All I can tell you is she is having tests, I will let her fill you in with the rest when she is able. We all know what a trouper Ellie is, and I know you will join me in wishing her a speedy recovery.
Sorry Chelle, I forgot to ask, how are you doing my friend, I know Ellie and you go back a long time, you've always been there for us, as we are here for you.
Eddie xx
