Morning all, Just setting up a new chat thread for March. If you want to catch up on February's chat you can click here but it will be closed.

The chit chat thread is for:

"Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!

Even having a laugh, that is a normal life, and we all have it.

If you have a special topic please start a new thread so people that wish to see it can, and can comment."

  • Sorry a few  people are are a little down, so the only way is up.

The  mind can be the devil in disguise, though as Patrick has done today, with friends and no time to think.

Now Hilo13 can get lost in a book.

Tomorrow is another day, hopefully better

  • Have a nice few days and a cocktail on mrle

    Patrick xx

  • How was your ceremony? Hopefully tied the knot with no further last minute nerves. Wish you safe journey back home

    Patrick xx

  • Hi Patrick, It's my aunties tying the knot, a civil partnership in a registry office yesterday, which was nice and went well, with an affirmation of vows to follow tomorrow, hopefully on the beach, sadly it's home for me on Monday, hospitals, but hoping to go back on Thursday,

how are you doing my friend, and have you been able to do anything or maybe just taking things easy?.

    Eddie xx

  • Sounds like you had a good week anyway, great stuff, was invited to go on a long weekend to Holland today, nice to be able to give the impression I'm up to it, but need to think, don't want to get to stranded anywhere that they don't understand what's going in. My absolute respect for you and Stella on taking the plunge, hope to dive in soon..

    Patrick xx

  • Absolutely think about it, you know yourself best, but I think all of us are taking a risk getting away from the familiar, I had my HT injection half way through our getaway knowing I would have a bad reaction to it, I ended up in hospital for a few days last time, and there's no hospital on the Scilly's, thankfully I just felt crap for a couple of days. I do have 8 lovely girls keeping an eye on me which helps.

    love Eddie

  • Hi Chris, It is normal to feel the way you are feeling just now. For the first few years I used to think any ache or pain was to do with my diagnosis, especially when there was a scan or appointment due. We are all human and can let,our imagination run away with us but when you really think about it, probably they are caused by overdoing things maybe the day or two before. Cry all you want it won’t do any harm and you may feel better after a good cry. However feeling anxious is not good for us. I tell myself that in the long run, whether I stress or not, it won’t change the outcome so I try not to think about it and occupy myself with other things.

Good luck on Monday please let us know how you get on!

    Love Annette x

Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery, Today is a Gift!!!
  • Hi Patrick, It is a pity you didn’t feel up to going away for the weekend but there will be plenty of other weekends.

Yes we are all experts in saying “ I’m fine thanks” when we are not!

  • Good Morning

Still in Soller Mallorca, had amazing Mexican/ Mallorca  tapas food last night. I think we will go back again next week. The weather has been patchy with wind and rain from 1-3pm then sun the rest of the day.

Chris : we are only human so it is completely normal to feel anxious and upset when we have a consultation appointment coming up. It is Ok to cry and just feel the emotions. But I always think mentally, I have the power not cancer. It only has as much power as I feed it. I try to fill my days with things I enjoy. Hope your book is a good one.

Eddie: Hope you are feeling OK and having a great time in Scilly isles.

Patrick : I am sure there is proper medical facilities should you need it in Holland. Truthfully anyone can have a heart attack anywhere , sensible approach to risk is what we need. But I have to admit I am more of a risk taker in general. I have booked flights to Johannesburg and planning for a safari in Zambia this July. Probably just wishful thinking, but I need something to keep me going.

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.

    Stella x
