Morning all, hope you are all keeping well.
Had an appointment with my Oncologist yesterday, he authorised another 9 chemo's. But I haven't yet had a scan to see what effect the first round of chemo has had. He said on the basis of questions he's asked me, my responses and the look of the area concerned is a clear indicator that the chemo has had some effect on the tumour. This is positive news right? But still I am mentally unable to accept it and remain pessimistic to safeguard myself. I believe this is because I have no faith and went through such a bad rollercoaster time when they were trying to find a diagnosis. I mean amongst other mishaps they completed a scan and advised me it wasn't cancer I had a bleed. Yeah right, I actually had a 15 cm tumour, how the hells bells do you miss that on a scan huh!! Now when they give me positive news, I struggle to accept it as I'm so scared they'll give me hope but then only take it away again down the line. Does anybody else feel this way?
Food shopping today and I think a cream cake is in order! Hope you all enjoy your day whatever it is you may be doing.
Yes, true! Always respect others.
I'm thinking of gardening, though the forecast here is for rain, so we'll see. I'll get Candy out soon, as neither of us like being out when it's raining.
I'm more than happy to be called a puddock....better than the names my husband calls me! funnily enough, my 'totem' animal is a frog....i have a stone one in my garden that has been with me for years. It has travelled with me through several gardens.
Have a good day, whatever you do, and hope you get good news from the GP!
Hi Puddock, Thank you I hope it's good news too, did the weather stay dry enough to have some time in the garden, are you still tidying up and clearing out stage I do hope you have discovered one or two lovely surprises, Does Candy miss her friends when they go home, or is she happy their gone, Therapy and took daughter out for lunch and GP soon,
Eddie xx
Hi Eddie
Hope you had a good lunch, and your appetite is back.
I didn't do any gardening in the end, so had an afternoon nap!
We're going to the pub for a meal tonight, so Candy will have an evening with hubby's dogs at his house. I think they just watch TV when we go out!
Candy's 2 mates live with my husband, so she is a solo dog most of the time. They all get on well together though.
Puddock
Hi Puddock, great to hear Candy and the others are good friends, Poppy's best friend is Sheila's Westie, who has taught Poppy some bad habits, had a nice dinner thank you, quiche, salad + new potato's, wasn't my 1st choice had to get to No 4 as sold out of 1, 2 + 3, and I got the last slice of quiche I hope you fare better tonight at the pub and get out into the garden tomorrow, No MRI results at GPs, but talked about a few things,, mainly colonoscopy result and bleeding, have a lovely evening.
Eddie xx
Evening Marie, how have you been today, you have been a little quiet lately, hopefully because you are having a trip out somewhere nice with family enjoying the beautiful weather , it's supposed to be here for a few days, so hopefully will feel well enough to get away a few times. Jumper came off today for the first time this year. Went to Welbeck today for lunch and yummies and somehow got lost but drove through some wonderful scenery which we will be going back to one day. Saw GP earlier she's not happy with my bleeding even though everything else is fine. No MRI results yet. Take care
Eddie xx
Good morning. I wish I could tell you I've been on some trips out in the beautiful weather but alas no. I've been resting up past couple of days I've had upset tummy issues again. Not had that in a while huh. However, feeling better today and hoping it goes away now as it's my week off Chemo next week and we are heading to Scotland for the week. Really excited. Dave is happy as we have gone from slumming it in a glamping pod in Wales to a lovely cottage in Scotland. A little apprehensive about the long journey but we shall stop over. At Alnwick I believe, I've always wanted to visit the poison garden. Really looking forward to it.
I've been catching up with the posts I've missed and I'm having a right giggle to myself with some of these names. Yes div donk means the same and yes Kate I can be a little gormless with things I have no knowledge about. I do come out with some things sometimes.
Your end of life discussion sounds very interesting Eddie and you're right in that we should discuss things more openly however difficult. I myself find it difficult and there are some things I can't discuss at all yet although I recognise I will when I'm ready I hope. Palliative nurse came to visit yesterday. She's so wonderful. Always wanting to help and do the best by me.
No Eddie Dave has no relatives in Doncaster. He grew up down South and then moved to Wolverhampton and then to Nottingham when he met his first wife Helen. She unfortunately passed from cancer too. How utterly cruel for Dave to have to go through that twice. All his relatives are South.
Well, think that's all my news. Hope everyone is keeping well. I'm on route to hospital to get my PICC line dressing changed. Enjoy your day and take care x
Hope you thoroughly enjoy Scotland Marie! Eddie is now calling me a puddock....with my permission, of course. Haven't had a nick-name for a while.
Sorry your tummy has been misbehaving again. Maybe you should eat porridge whilst you're in Scotland....it is easy to digest. Not sure if haggis will help. staying in a cottage is much more civilised than a glamping pod...I'm with Dave on that one. Sleeping under canvas is deffo a thing of the past for me.
Enjoy your hols!
Kate/Puddock

Hi Marie
Have you set off for Scotland yet?
It is midge season now...you didn't say which part of Scotland you are staying in, but I hope you've packed some midge repellent just in case!
I have been to the poison garden at Alnwick....it's FAB! I use some of the plants in my own garden, but am always careful when planting them. And the fountains there are amazing too.
Eddie is right, Alnmouth is a lovely place to stop off. So is Amble.
Have a lovely break....you deserve it!
Hugs
Kate
thanks eddie for the offer of somebody to talk to, I would certainly take you up on that if and when needed, thank you. I was feeling sorry for myself yesterday. When i got up i thought my upset tummy was getting better but it turned out to be the worse day. Spent most of the day been sick and laid up again ugh!!!! Feeling a little tender today but I have managed some stew and dumplings, thats got to be progress right. Heres hoping im better tomorrow.
Not set off for Scotland yet, we go tomorrow morning, really excited and I so will enjoy it Kate. Ive been once before and we stayed in a lodge on loch ard, its most definitely one of the beautiful places i have seen in my life time. This time we are staying in a cottage in carnoustie. We picked here as it's near the coast, we want to see st andrews, dundee, perth and we want to visit the cairngorms. We then go on to edinburgh. Daughter is coming with us and she is desperate to go. She wants to visit all that is macabre and supernatural, mary kings close, greyfriars etc. Me and dave have already been but still I love it and more than happy to return. Thank you kate for the tips, midge repellent, porridge and possibly hagis, i hear ya!!!!! Looking forward to the poison garden, it's defo my kind of thing. Not sure if we will make alnmouth and amble though but we may on the way back. After the stop over we are continuing on with the journey, don't have that much time.
I hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying your time as best you can. Take care all X
