I’ve had a similar experience with this group, yendorh.
I joined some weeks ago when I first received my ‘incurable’ diagnosis. It took a few days for admin to trigger membership but then everything was fine.
Late last week I found I could reply to threads but not start them and discovered that I was no longer a member of the group. Re-applied over the weekend and I’ve now been re-admitted.
I don’t know what caused any of the above but it might be useful if an admin could investigate and offer some feedback if there’s anything we can do ourselves to prevent it recurring.
It is a horrible glitchy system that needs replacing if you ask me. I will report this to the admin team - I hope they’ll be able to help with any future issues
Well, at least it’s fixed for now. Hopefully, by highlighting it they may be able to find a permanent fix, and even if not, if others see our posts they may not become frustrated or disillusioned if it happens to them.
From my perspective, it’s only happened in this one group which is a little more selective in who’s allowed in.... maybe the admin side could look at any underlying permissions/access privileges that have been applied to the group. Is there any kind of timespan fixed to individual’s membership? Or indeed, any default cut-off if someone doesn’t post for a while?
Sadly, this group is a group within a group within a far greater group that absolutely no one really wants to join, so once you’ve taken the plunge you probably don’t want to be forced to do it repetitively ...
I agree with you - and I’ve highlighted your post with the admin team. Your comments about groups within groups puts me in mind of Dante’s circles of hell. Imagine being condemned to an eternity of always joining the group but never being allowed to post or read.
