Hello- I am 8 weeks post op hysterectomy I am 3 days post histology/follow up via telephone . I am stage 1A grade 1A and I am terrified that I am on my own now expected to identify any problems from endometrial cancer and contact them I feel on my own and I haven’t stopped crying for 3 days . Today was first day back at work - I did stop crying for 3 hours
Hi Aoife and I see it’s your first post in the community so a warm welcome.
Navigating the post treatment journey can be challenging and it can be very specific to the type of cancer and treatments.
I was first diagnosed back in 1999 with my first type of rare incurable Lymphoma and relapsed multiple times over the first 14 years then a second, also rare aggressive type of Lymphoma came along in late 2013 but 2 years full on treatment eventually got me into remission and so I continue to live a great life….. but it has not been without its challenges.
I found talking with others who have been in the same journey helped me a lot.
I see you have already joined our supportive Womb (uterus) cancer support group….. This group is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
The Macmillan Support Line is open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provides practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.
Talking to people ‘face to face’ can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
