Hi Smitty3 and welcome to this corner of the community.
Sorry to hear you have post radiotherapy problems. These problems can be ever so different depending on the type of cancer you were treated for.
If you tells your type of cancer this will open up your ability to get specific support.
I have lived with and been treated for a rare Skin Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma for over 23 years and have had a lot of skin treatments including radiotherapy resulting in permanent skin damage in the anus area…… resulting in anal fissure so this area bleeds a lot of the time….. to the point that my last poo test (a man of that age) was positive so had to have some checks to rule out dowel cancer but the positive test was put down to fissure.
One time I did end up with 2nd degree burns on my bum as the PUVA machine did not switch off but the member of staff thankfully noticed so she switched it off. It was only 4/5 seconds but the damage was done.
For me, this is a small price to pay for me still being here talking to you.
Do tell us more so we can help you further.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
