Hello. I am a testicular cancer survivor. I have finished my treatment, and had chemo 16 days ago.
I am wondering with the covid thing going on, when I can go into a supermarket and buy food, as I think and hope my immune system would be ok now.
Has anyone got any advice for me please?
Thank you.
Hi and welcome to our little corner of the Community.
Every cancer type is different so the immune system recovery can be weeks, months and in my case years.
This is the Macmillan’s information page on cancer and coronavirus (COVID-19) and this from Cancer Research UK about the immune system and chemo.
We do actually have a very supportive Testicular cancer group where folks support each other during and after treatments and get their thoughts on your question.
As always I would recommend you talk with your Medical Team of GP to get their take on this question.
All the best.
Hi. Thehighlander.
Thank you so much for that information. I really appreciate it.
I will certainly join the group you mentioned.
Yes, everyone is different I suppose.
Thank you once again, what a great community it is here.
Just added a link to Cancer Research UK
All the best.
