Morning all, I'm a tnbc grade 3 remission patient, I've been in remission 7 years this August, my worry is I've been told I'm in risk categories from the coronavirus, I have my flu jab every year and I do believe I still have low immunity, if I get a cold or cough it develos into a chest infection, if I cut or burn myself it always becomes infected, I get recurrent gum and tooth infections, I have also had four TIA attacks (mini strokes) in the past, my daughter parter and best friend are constantly on at me to be careful, I was at the breast clinic yesterday a friend of mine had lung cancer same time as my breast cancer, it returned 3 years ago as metastatic brain cancer and she died, now her only daughter asked me to go with her yesterday to breast unit she has calcium in one of her breasts not the one she originally.went to unit about, so I had to go with her as I'd been there and she has no one else, so now I'm in bother with the family, I couldn't let her go alone, am I at risk.

Thankyou all for your support.

Tracy

  • Hi Tracy am sorry to hear about your friend and it was so kind that your are supporting her

This is very challenging times at the moment and I can totally understand the concerns your family has for you - my family are the same and rightly so.

The fact that you get the flu vaccine every year does suggest you are in the governments at risk category.

In case it’s useful, we have information about Coronavirus on our website. For more information, including what to do if you have symptoms and how to reduce the risk of infection, please visit the NHS website.
