New here - hello.
Illeostomy surgery in March 2026 following Colo-rectal cancer diagnosis - out of the traps I hate it and everything to do with it, but the rational part of my brain accepts why it was necessary.
my chemotherapy treatment/regime is going positively and my oncologist has agreed a short trip abroad for me. I have booked a few days in Venice - somewhere I travel to yearly and know and love for the break.
A request for practical advice / tips really:
I’m travelling to Venice in December with a drainable ileostomy. At home I normally kneel beside the toilet to empty the pouch, but having used plenty of Venetian café toilets before, I know many are tiny and I really don’t fancy kneeling on those floors! Has anyone found a reliable alternative technique for cramped European public toilets?
