Hi Care
I’ve never used covers for either of my stoma bags they are waterproof, so I just go in the shower or bath as normal and then change my bags for fresh ones when I get out. I go in a swimming pool too without covers on either bag since covers aren’t needed. What was your reasoning for wanting covers for the bag?

Have you got a new supply of bags coming? I remember you were having issues getting more.
I hope so! I have in the past dried my bag with the hairdryer on a low setting which is very effective and might be a solution if you’re desperate! My colostomy bag dries very quickly like this, but of course it’s not ideal.
I don’t think people understand how stressful it is to be running low on supplies when we need them to be able to function.

A quick search online shows that waterproof covers for the bag are readily available but unfortunately I can’t put a link here as it’s against the guidelines. Have a search if you haven’t looked already and this might be a good solution?

Hi Twirly,
I've tried covering with a hand towel in the shower (I read that online somewhere) but that impedes washing - only one hand available. Plus the adhesive collar gets wet anyway and softens a bit. I generally air-dry after a shower for a while under a bathrobe and then don't have to change the bag again until next day. (I try and keep to a 2-day wear as I have sensitive skin and too much changing can lead to sores according to my stoma nurse.)
I would change if I used a swimming pool though because of chemicals etc but a sauna and shower is manageable on my usual schedule. Have seen covers in catalogues and online but haven't tried them
All the best,

Hi Twirly
I have two stomas and find getting them wet in the shower a nusance. I know there are plenty of shower covers one can order on line but I do a rather silly simple thing - I take a little dustbin bag (the kind you use for a little bathroom trash can) and I tape it to myself - just the top and sides seems to work. My stoma bag stays dry. I know thats not very sophisticated but it works for me! lol.
Good luck!
