Hi,Has anyone had a problem with the material front coming away from the backing on these bags ?
I woke up to a very wet bed the other day because of this.I have spoken to coloplast and sent back a sample of one of the faulty bags so they can investigate. It happened with 3 other bags so coloplast sent a replacement box.The same thing happened last night with a bag from the replacement box so I will let them know. The lot number on this box is 10378132.It looks like they have been badly cut in production leaving a much thinner edge which frays and comes undone.Jane x
Hi Jane
Sorry to hear that-it must be so frustrating. I don’t use the same type of bags but I hope you get a non faulty box of replacements! Good to warn us all though just in case anyone is having any similar issues.

Hi Sarah,I’ve just spoken to Coloplast about the faulty replacements and they are sending another replacement box out.Fingers crossed these new ones will be ok otherwise I think I might have to change suppliers.I’ve got the bag I’m wearing taped up just in case that unravels or leaks like the others It’s never happened before in almost 6 years of using the same make.Love Jane xx
Sometimes you just get a rogue batch-I’ve been lucky not to have experienced that but I’ve read about it before. Once I went onto convex Hollister bags I found them nearly perfect but I’ve certainly had leaks with them at times- more likely “user error” than anything else though!
It’s miserable waking up in a wet bed for whatever reason-it takes me such a long time to sort out!

A lady from Coloplast has rung to discuss the problem. She said no one else has reported an issue but that doesn’t mean that they haven’t had one. They will provide another type of bag to try if this next batch is faulty.I’ll be getting another bag to send back a sample from this box.Love Jane xx
I've noticed complaints on a couple of Facebook pages recently. A UK site and a US site. They seem to be saying the same thing - the cover coming away from the backing. A few folk seem to have complained but have been given the impression by coloplast that they are the only ones (sounds a bit like the Post Office scandal!).
Hope you are able to get this resolved.
Hi Jane. Yes, I've just re-read one of the posts (it was for black stoma bags, not urostomy), on the UK site. The lady there had tried 3 different batches which all had the same problem so she had 31 faulty bags. Others reported the same problem and there were also complaints about the backing from the baseplate being totally stuck and unable to remove ,as well as bad wrinkling on the baseplate.
I think their QC needs looking at. Good luck with the next box!
