Hi All,
I have just got some marketing stuff from Hollister that included the information that 5th October is World Ostomy Day in case anyone is interested - apparently this happens every 3 years. My stoma isn't yet 2 so that may be why I hadn't heard of it. If you are really keen you can get stickers - not very attractive I think as they show a bright circle on a patch of skin coloured background. As well as physical ones you can get digital ones to jazz up your Instagram.
I laughed at first, but thinking about it I may well have a quiet thanksgiving on the 5th as without my stoma life would have been impossible for me.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying life and that your stoma is behaving itself.

I didn’t realise it only happened once every 3 years, but see now I was confusing it with Ostomy Awareness day, which is an annual thing, but also in October!
I don’t advertise my stomas, so won’t do the whole sticker thing, but any kind of awareness is a good thing. My own anniversary date is seared into my brain, so that will have to do!
Sarah xx
