Morning all.
It’s that time of year for the poo test kit arriving through the door! This is my second test under the screening programme, so I have done it before.
I’ve not had bowel cancer, but I do have an end colostomy after rectum removal. The kit arrived yesterday, just a bit too late for me to be able to do it then. I am now patiently waiting for something else to appear in my bag so I can get it done and sent off.
We are very lucky to have this screening service in the UK, and it will probably be time soon for my next mammogram. I’m happy we get the opportunity to get all these tests under the NHS and that things can be picked up quickly if there are any issues. Hopefully all will be well this time.

Hi SarahH21
I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.
I've also had both the poo test and a mammogram this year so know just have nerve wracking waiting for the results can be.

Thanks Anne. I did open the results envelope straight away last time, so I’m getting better with NHS letters! I hated the mammogram last time as the nurse brought someone else in to have a look at the images and did it again. I know it was to get a clearer picture but your mind still races. I’m not good with any type of scanning-even seeing the machine makes me hyperventilate. But I’m getting a little bit less anxious these days.
