Hi, I would like to know how to deal with the bag when returning to my old life, much of my time was spent miles from a toilet, day long farm walks, my bag needs emptying 5/6 times a day, how do others cope please
Hi Milkmaid66
I used to have an Ileostomy which like you I wondered how I would manage.
In actual fact I found it easier to empty my bag than trying to find a toilet that was fit for purpose when I had my bowel cancer
When out and about I would plan ahead knowing where the toilets wet.
My kit bag had doggy bags just incase. I carried some water that I could use if needed. I used to wash the opening out. Just my preference I suppose I also had a beaker with lid that allowed me to sort myself in the car sitting down in private
I never had any issues.
I think if you plan your outings you’ll gain confidence
Best wishes
Ann
