Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes. I have stoma, lower left side. I have now been diagnosed with an insicional hernia on the original incision to remove the tumour. It'a about 2 inches directly below the stoma. Surgeon is going to sort it with some mesh but has advised I wear some sort of support until the op. Ive tried a couple of types which go around the waist and a piece goes down over the hernia and back up behind. Problem is that this bit sits right over the stoma! Any suggestions please?
Sarah extremely helpful nurse some 27 minutes re mainly stoma (parastomal) hernia operation slight possibility without stoma reversal going forward and wearing hernia belt 24/7 excellent advice thank you Sarah you helped me initially yourself regards tony
That’s excellent Tony-I’m glad you were able to get such useful help from the nurse. I know from my own experience the helpline staff are lovely. I hope you’ll let us know how you get on-the question of the op for a parastomal hernia comes up but not many people seem to be able to give their experience if it. All the best to you going forward.
Sarah xx
