Hi,
Please can anyone offer guidance on the following. I have a large Granuloma next to my stoma where it joins surrounding skin. When I put my pouch in place, should the Granuloma be covered by the sticky disc, or should it be inside the cut out area along with the stoma?
Whenever I do the former, my output starts to make its way under sticky the disc area.
Hoping the above makes sense.
Many thanks
S
Hi Stevejhb.
I had granulomas around my stoma acouple of years ago. It was treated with silver nitrate, which involved the stoma nurse applying the wet end of a caustic stick to the granuloma to cauterise the granuloma. This was carried out weekly for 4 weeks. The stoma nurse gave me Hyperseal Washers and told me to use them covering the granulomas. Like you, I experienced my output leaking out from under the baseplate and also pancaking. I have since asked my supplier (Securicare) to cut my pouches a bit bigger after cutting the ones I already had to see if that improved. Hope this helps.
Take care
Kim
