Hi, does anyone have any advice on how to avoid pancaking?
I’ve had my stoma for 8 weeks now & it’s something that’s occurred on & off but pretty much all the time in the last 2 weeks?
I've been measuring by stoma to make sure I cut the bags correctly, adding roll up bits of toilet paper & baby oil but nothing seems to work. My stoma nurse gave me some different bags to try but alas nothing.
Any advice, tips or tricks would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
JBJ
Hi JBJ
Sorry I’m an ileostomy so my output is much looser most of the time.
I will ask SarahH2 to help there’s lots of advice here so it won’t be long
The one thing that helped me was convex bags with a belt and Eakin slims it’s took a while for my stoma to show and as it was flat it had problems putting the output in the bag it pancaked a lot the convex bags encouraged Whoopi to put it where she should

What’s your stoma called and why?
There’s some brilliant names and some are so apt. since then there’s been loads more.
The last one Moaning Myrtle. Absolutely brilliant. Ha ha.
