Morning everyone.
How do people feel when they get a bit dehydrated?I have read about all the signs and symptoms.but wondered if anyone has noticed any other things.I start to feel a bit shaky inside and would love to know if anyone else has had anything similar.
Sorry if that all sounds a bit confused but I wasnt sure how to put it.

Hi Katz51,
I know I'm a bit behind the curve here, but I've just spotted this thread.
My recent experience of dehydration, which is on the back of very watery, frequent output, includes cramps in my feet at night. Not sure how common this is but I did read about it somewhere. Weight loss is another symptom for me.
I was told by a gastroenterology consultant recently that having an ileostomy means that fluids are not absorbed into the system so well as this is the job of the colon, which we don't have, or is bypassed by the ileostomy, so we're more likely to get dehydrated. The consultant advised me to stick to 1l of fluid per day, which is contrary to normal advice, but if I get dehydrated to drink an extra litre of St Mark's solution, or similar, to maintain electrolyte levels etc.
Have other people had this advice?
Thanks
Osboz
