Well my bag which I call Bubble & Squeak is very active so no complaints there but I cannot decide how long to allow waste matter to remain in it before changing.
I have used the Stoma bags which I was given to take home from the hospital that could be emptied and I am now using the sealed type bags.
It's the only aspect I struggle with being how much to allow before changing the bag.
I would appreciate any advice given.
Thank you,
Chromeplated.
I’m an Ileostomy’ Chromplated so I am emptying a lot so sorry that my advice may not be useful
I just wanted to say thanks for letting us know bubble and squeaks doing it’s job. Brilliant news. Hopefully you’ll be feeling better now you’ve had a rotten time and it sounds like things are looking up
There’ll be lots of info from others.
I empty roughly when a third full during the day it stops build up near stoma and then pancaking
Ann
I don’t personally like the feeling of waste in the bag, so I tend to change it with any level of output, but I guess it’s a personal thing. The longer I leave it, the more chance there is of the bag leaking or having pancaking I find. For me after all this time, it only takes a couple of minutes to change it and it feels more comfortable. My output with a colostomy is thicker than with an ileostomy, and not so frequent.
