Hello …
I have had my stoma over six weeks now and all seems to be going well with it (few small hiccups but nothing major). I am now back at work and so far so good. I am supposed to be running the Great North Run in September so was thinking of starting to run again soon… my concern is supporting the stoma so it isn’t moving around and pulling at the skin. Sometimes it can feel uncomfortable if it’s starting to fill up/full and it’s unpredictable when this happens.
Any advice/tips/recommendations would be appreciated. I have seen support belts online… anyone got one of these?
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Hi Catz321. Just found this link on the nhs colostomy site too
Hi Catz
I have been doing some research into the support belts that I bought in the early days.
I have two the makes Comfizz they were very inexpensive
So this is my second day and I am finding them really supportive
I think because I was early days post op they caused pressure on my tender abdomen now six months on I am quite impressed with the support they give.
Also and added bonus when emptying my output the band can go up over my tops making access easy.
I’m sure you’ve probably sorted your training kit out now but I thought this was worth a mention. Especially as I didn’t give a very positive review first time around.
Good luck training
Ann
