Well I have had my opp and my bag is fitted.
Called in early so that was good.
Had a cup of tea and passed lots of water.
stoma training with my wife Thursday.
Discharged ?
but fingers crossed it’s Thursday.
Hi Chromeplated. That’s good news indeed. They won’t discharge you until the stoma nurses are happy that you can manage your bag and they often don’t work weekends so hopefully you and your wife will pass with flying colours and be out Thursday or Friday x
Hi Chromplated
I was going to ask today I found your past post and then thought No just in case you’d been cancelled.
So I am delighted that you’ve had your operation it’s going to make such a difference you’ll be able to visit Pembrokeshire
Good luck with the Stoma training the nurses are fantastic
Keep us updated
Ann
Thanks.
just been told I cannot have anything to eat yet but I had had 2 cuppas so far.
Chromeplated.
That’s a good start.
when did you have your op and what side did they attach the bag. You weren’t sure if it was colostomy or Ileostomy before ?
Ann
Yes ,you will need to be eating and drinking to make sure your stoma is working before discharge
Good luck with the stoma training.its really easy when you get into the swing of it.Ive got an iliostomy so change it alternate days and empty it 5 or6 times a day.A colostomy of course is different
