Well I have had my opp and my bag is fitted.

Called in early so that was good.

Had a cup of tea and passed lots of water.

stoma training with my wife Thursday.

Discharged ?

but fingers crossed it’s Thursday.

  • Hi . That’s good news indeed. They won’t discharge you until the stoma nurses are happy that you can manage your bag and they often don’t work weekends so hopefully you and your wife will pass with flying colours and be out Thursday or Friday x

  • That’s a good start.
when did you have your op and what side did they attach the bag. You weren’t sure if it was colostomy or Ileostomy before ?

  • Yes ,you will need to be eating and drinking to make sure your stoma is working before discharge

Good luck with the stoma training.its really easy when you get into the swing of it.Ive got an iliostomy so change it alternate days and empty it 5 or6 times a day.A colostomy of course is different
