Hi I’m new here, please be nice . Hubby had an ileoscopy in July and occasionally gets really painful wind . He had a urinary stoma. All suggestions to avoid him getting wind and the acute abdominal pain he gets with it and he throws up too. Anyone had this or has any suggestions to help him ?
hi Stomawife, welcome. This is a brilliant site. with lots of very caring and understanding people. Lemonade or fizzy water helped my pain when I had wind with my illiostomy or anything really that made me burp.
A hot water bottle helped with the pain and when it was really bad 2 cocodomol - this causes constipation but as my illiostomy was very runny they thickened up my output. I'm not advocating this drug to thicken output. Loperamide Immodium) is the best I found to thicken output.
Husbands/carers have a hard time of it, in my experience and can feel so helpless which is frustrating for them. Just know no question is silly or embarrasing.
