Hi, can any who has had a pelvic exteneration tell me how long it takes before you can sit down comfortably again?
I am 7 months post op but I still need either a valley or a donut cushion to sit on for any length of time. I can manage a few minutes on a soft chair now, but can't do hard chairs at all. it's not painful exactly, just extremely uncomfortable.
Perhaps I'm being impatient, but in so many other ways I have recovered well. Is this the last thing to come right or is it something I need to learn to live with?
Thanks.
Osboz
Hi Osboz. I just dropped by and noticed you've not had an answer to your post as yet. I've not had these procedures so I'm not going to be a lot of help I'm sorry to say but why not give a nurse a call on the Macmillan Support Helpline, freephone number shown below. They should be able to offer you some advice. Alternatively give your stoma team a call, they'll be happy to help.
Sending hugs, B xx
