Hi, I noticed a small sore red rash yesterday the very day that we were going away for the first time since gaining my stoma.
This morning it’s doubled in size and as I was away I sorted it quickly and enjoyed the rest of our break.
Now the main concern is that I have I am allergic to plasters! Which if my body rejects my pouch I’m in serious trouble.
I phoned my nurse she’s said to use calamine and that it happens a lot, she’s posting me some new pouches to try though I feel I have to use the ones I’ve got as I’m trying to do my bit for the planet.
Any tips on how to apply the calamine and does allowing it to air
UPDATE
Its much improved. Thanks for your help
Artsie give your GP a call in future. If you need anything .Hospital told me to do this and not to pay for a thing .It works for me .As for the Stoma Bags Nobody wants them .Not even for training Drict Nurses the same .I can understand why but it's shocking. Glad that things have settled down. All to do with love and care Or a right good talking to.
